When to see a Gynecologist
Guidelines have changed over the past years about when you should see a gynecologist for the first time. Generally you should visit a gynecologist:
- When you are 18 or earlier if you become sexually active
- If you have unusual bleeding or irregular periods
- If you stop having periods for three months or more
- If you suspect or know you are pregnant
- If you have been trying to become pregnant without success
- If you have pelvic pain

You should visit a gynecologist at OB/GYN Health Center Associates:
- For an annual pelvic exam
- To learn about birth control options
- To learn how to prevent and test for sexually transmitted diseases
- Screening for reproductive cancers, such as Pap smear
